Well, we couldn't wait until Monday to unveil our new integrated library system catalog name so we have done so today instead...
Thanks to Joshua Thompson for the winning entry to our "Name That System" contest. He will be receiving his 8 GB flash drive on Monday.
A word of explanation is probably good:
COUGAR is the CIU mascot. Now that we have a fitness center and the potential of more sporting activities, the cougar will be more noticable around campus, we think.
QUEST is exactly what we see searching the library online catalog to be... a quest for information. And since that's what we are all about, we felt that the name CougarQuest represented just what this new system will be doing for all our staff and patrons.
On Monday, when our new online catalog is unveiled, you'll see the cougar AND the name!
