Moving ahead

There is nothing quite like knowing you are really MOVING AHEAD on a project, and we are feeling that euphoria this week as "D-Day" approaches for going live with our new WebPac and circulation system! Our cataloging module is up and running and we have been practicing and training on the checking out of items, and we are spending a lot of time of some of the fun things connected with introducing the new system.

For example, we have chosen the WINNER of our "Name the System" contest. We had over 80 entries! BUT we are not telling you who the winner is or what the winning entry is quite yet! The 8 GB flash drive prize is sitting here in my office awaiting delivery to the winner and I am working hard to not find a good excuse to keep it for myself! We'll announce the winner on February 25, so stay tuned.

Of course we have the inevitable rocks in the road that scare us into thinking this is all just a dream and we won't be able to pull this off, but I am confident that on February 25 we'll have something to show everyone.

I understand that many people we serve will not really grasp the enormity of what is happening here at the Fleece Library, but I assure you, this is a REALLY BIG DEAL!!
