Job security?

There is a new assessment test being given to college students called the ICT Literacy Assessment. More than 6300 students at 63 institutions have been given the test thus far, with some interesting results.

The test measures the efficiency of web useage by the students for their research.

*Evaluation of web sites: 52% judged the objectivity of the sites correctly
*Selection of a research statement: 8% picked a statement that did not accurately address the assignment they had
*Web searching: 40% entered multiple search terms to narrow the results

This is enough to tell me that the Reference Librarians have plenty they can do to help students succeed more in their research through the Library, either the physical facility OR the Library website and databases.
